Brandon Thomas Sory

2012 Worshipful Master of Phoenix Lodge #131

Brandon Sory was born on September 28, 1988 to Brother Robert G Sory Sr. and Alisa K Sory. He graduated from Nashville Christian High School in 2006 and then attended the University of Tennessee where he studied Accounting, and then Embry Riddle Aeronautical University where he studied Aviation Business Administration.

Brandon was initiated as an Entered Apprentice Mason in Phoenix Lodge on January 27, 2007, Passed to the Degree of Fellowcraft on February 24, 2007, and Raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on March 24, 2007. Brandon is the 4th generation of the Sory Family to be a member of Phoenix Lodge. Brandon is a member of the Royal Order of Yellowdogs, the Tennessee Lodge of Research, the South Carolina Masonic Research Society and the Southern California Lodge of Research. Brandon was appointed into the Officers Line in 2008 serving Phoenix Lodge as its Junior Deacon. He was advanced each year and was elected Worshipful Master of Phoenix Lodge #131 on December 5, 2011 and was installed on December 16, 2011 by the two men who raised him as a Master Mason, PGM KI Wright and PM Opie Sory.

Brandon serves the Grand Lodge of Tennessee as District 8 Deputy Chairman.

Brother Sory is an Honorary Member of Oriental Lodge #453, French Broad Lodge #588, Bright Hope Lodge #557 & Cherokee Lodge #728.

Brother Sory was initiated into Areme Chapter #466, Order of the Eastern Star on April 22, 2011.

Brother Sory was initiated into Burlington Forest #207, Tall Cedars of Lebanon on August 20, 2011. He is a Tall Cedar of Lebanon Foundation Life Member.

Brother Sory received the 4-32° Scottish Rite Degrees on March 5th and 12th, 2011 in Knoxville Valley Consistory and was elected Vice President of the class. He plays active roles in the 6th, 14th, 19th, 29th, 30th and 32nd Degrees at their Reunions. He is a member of the Consistorian's Club where he is currently serving as Secretary/Treasurer and the Knights of St Andrew where he has been elected as Deputy Chief Knight. He was nominated and elected into the officers line as Orator of the Lodge of Perfection on November 22, 2011.

Brother Sory was Exalted in Paxton/Pearl Chapter #24 on May 20, 2011, Greeted in Knoxville Council #75 on May 21, 2011 and Knighted in Coeur DeLion Commandery #9 on August 13, 2011. He is a life-member of Knoxville Area York Rite Association #3.

Brother Sory was Received, Admitted and Constituted a Noble of Shriners International in Kerbela Shrine Temple on July 19, 2011. He is a member of the North Knox Shrine Club and Kerbela Hillbilly Clan #24, where he was elected President of the class. Brandon is also a member of the 100 Million Dollar Club.

Brandon is also a Tennessee Squire, and an Honorary "Duke of Hazard" (Hazard, Kentucky) where he also received a Key to the City. Brandon has also received the State's Highest Honors from the Governors of Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas, Alabama, and Nebraska. Along with the titles of "Tennessee Colonel Aide de Camp", "Kentucky Colonel", "Admiral in the Texas Navy", "Honorary Colonel in the Alabama State Militia", and "Admiral in the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska". He has been awarded the Masonic Ritual Pin of Excellence, the Bill Robertson Outstanding Mason Award, the Grand Lodge of Tennessee's Gold Volunteer Service Award, the Grand Lodge of Tennessee's Masonic Light Award, and the Scottish Rite's Master Craftsman Award. He was nominated and selected by Lexus of Knoxville and WIVK 107.7 as the "2011 Lexus Leader of Knoxville" and was awarded the "Tennessee Ambassador of Goodwill" title by Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam in 2011.
